Dr. V. Himabindu:working as Professor, BoS Chairperson & Head Centre for Environment, CEN, UCEST, JNTU Hyderabad, India. She has done M. Sc in Environmental chemistry, M. Tech in Environment management and earned PhD in Chemistry from JNTU Hyderabad. Dr. V. Himabindu’s research focuses on monitoring of Air, Water and Soil pollutants and their control technologies, Bio fuels production, Energy materials, Sequestration of CO₂ gases from industrial air emissions and Hydrogen energy, Sustainable technologies for environmental remediation. She has a teaching experience of total 28 years. She has supervised 21 Ph. D students, co-supervised 5 Ph.D students and currently guiding Ph. D students. She has mentored 4 post-doctoral fellows. Dr. V. Himabindu has authored 150 publications in reputed national and international journals. Dr. V. Himabindu has successfully executed 24 R&D projects funded by state and central government organizations like BARC, APPCB, CPCB, DRDO, DST, UGC, SEDA- Sweden, MSME, MNRE, DBT. Dr. V. Himabindu holds a patent on biohydrogen production by dark fermentation from distillery spent wash. Dr. V. Himabindu is the Life member of The Indian Society for Technical Education, Fellow of Telangana Academy of Sciences, Life Fellow membership, Indian Institute of Plant Engineers, the member of American chemical society and The external academic reviewer for National Research and Development Agency, Santiago, chile. She is an approved Government Analyst for the Central Pollution Control Board since January 2002.
